I would say the opposite. The stalkerish overtones are what make the song remotely listenable to me.

I also find the creepiness more of a feature than a bug. It got my vote over some really tough competition (MJ, Eurythmics. Bowie, Eileen…).

The Police for me - in a year of total garbage. Dexys is the only other bearable song on the list.

Whoops - too quick on the button! Edited to add a thumbs up for Eurythmics too. Actually that should have got my vote.

I wavered between Beat It and Bille Jean, but in the end had to go with Flashdance(What aA Feeling). Because the closing dance number in the movie took me by the throat and would not let me go.

What a feeling.
