So, it has to be either Outkast or Snoop Dogg/Farrell, and “Drop It Like It’s Hot” pretty well runs circles around the rest of this list, Outkast included.

And I had no idea Pharrell was around that long.

“Drop It Like It’s Hot” was Pharrell’s biggest hit to which his name was attached (until “Happy”, anyway), but he’s done a lot of stuff behind the scenes - he had a few hip-hop hits as a member of the group N.E.R.D., and as a member of the Neptunes he did production work for some of Britney Spears’ and Jay-Z’s biggest hits.

That’s the plan. Once we’re caught up to the present day, I’ll do a best of the decade poll for each decade, and after December 18th (when the final chart of 2014 comes out and we can do the poll for this year) we’ll take the polls from every decade to select the greatest #1 of all time.

I’m withholding my vote (temporarily?) because the only song I recognize is Yeah! and it really isn’t good.

I wonder what will happen for 1991…there is a tie for that year right now. Maybe a play-in round to break that tie?
