Have there been any good books written by insiders about either the Obama/Clinton fight for the Demomination or the Obama/McCain fight for the top job? If so, I’d be interested to hear Dopers’ recommendations.
I was an interested observer from the UK, and I found both of these contests utterly fascinating. I used to read whatever I could on a daily basis, especially the epic Obama/Clinton tussle.
I haven’t read any, because having lived through it once it will be many years before I’m willing to revisit the horror.
However, this review mentions some favorably.
It’s not a book, but HBO is airing a behind the scenes documentary of Obama’s campaign tonight that should be interesting. By The People. It starts from before he announces his candidacy and goes on through election night. I’m not sure if you have HBO or if you can even get it in the UK but it might be something to look out for.
