I’m looking for a camera that meets the following criteria (in order of importance):
- Small and pocketable
- Inexpensive
- Good low-light pictures
- Has a camera mount
- Has some manual controls (exposure priority at least)
If you have a good recommendation for such a camera, then fire away… my REAL question is, what website most easily lets me search for cameras by those kinds of criteria?
Doesn’t exist.
There’s no small, inexpensive cameras that’s good in low light. None. There are some compacts that are better than others, but they’re not cheap. The best of the lot is the Panasonic LX3 but is has a very small zoom lens so it’s not the greatest all around camera. Next would be the Fuji F200EXR, again not cheap but a better all around camera. Finally there’s the Canon G10 which is bigger than the others but has more functionality.
What’s your definition of cheap?
Here’s a list of all the non-DSLRs on the market with manual controls: http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/cameraList.php?search=1&manSearch=0&resSearch=0&lcdSearch=0&storageSearch=0&priceSearch=0&cameraTypeSearch=1&zoomSearch=0&lcdTypeSearch=0&batterySearch=0&manCtrlSearch=Y&submit.x=47&submit.y=8
I can’t recommend a camera for you, but here’s my favorite camera review site: www.dpreview.com.
