If it makes you feel better…we first made it for dinner and an after dinner snack. But then…the next morning…in a ‘lets clean out the ice chest since its warm’ moment…we had it for breakfast (wait for it) withsides of pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. We also tried it with lunch meat in the form of ham, beef, and turkey, but the deli style slices were too thin. I contemplated a s’more style cheese curd, but since they don’t get ooey gooey, I opted against it. Now I want to spend my summer weekends roasting things over and open fire to see if they go with cheese curd. I think that roasted cheese curd would go well dipped in honey or jelly like Juustoleipa cheese. stpauler should try it and report back on Tuesday.
If you do not live in an artisan cheese area, you probably won’t be able to get fresh squeeky cheese curd. You’ll have to come here and try it.
