Best Christmas songs

Last year, someone on this board introduced me to the joy that is Straight No Chaser’s 12 Days of Christmas, which is now my favorite Christmas song of all time, I think.

What’s yours?

A favorite of the boyfriend and mine is "The Little Drummer Boy / Peace on Earth "as performed by David Bowie and Bing Crosby.

And though not technically a Christmas song, I’ve really come to Love “Baby It’s Cold Outside” since someone on this board was kind enough to turn me onto *it *last year.

Carol of the Bells, I always loved how a boys choir could make a Christmas song sound so menacing.

Thanks DB! Loved it!

Yeah, same here. This has been my favorite Christmas carol for as long as I can remember.

My favorite has alwas been White Christmas by Bing but a very close second is This Time of Year by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

Bob & Doug’s “Twelve Days of Christmas” – the full album version, not the abridged radio version.

“Quiz for Doug!”
“I’ve got my thinking toque on.”
“What are the 12 days of Christmas?”
“Well, there’s Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s, New Year’s Eve, Wrestling Day…there’s two Saturdays and Sundays in there…”

I never heard this until this year, but I love, love, love it!

But this is my favorite.

“Don’t Shoot Me Santa” by The Killers gets my vote for being both a Christmas song and a murder ballad.

“That’s only 9.”
“Well, I believe there are also 3 mystery days, so that makes 12!”

Family tradition at my house is to play “Star Wars: Christmas in the Stars” and “A Muppet Christmas”, so my sentimental favorites are the Muppet’s rendition of Little Saint Nick and C-3PO’s What Do You Get A Wookiee For Christmas (When He Already Has A Comb).

Coming from a non-Christian perspective, my favorite is this little ditty entitled If We Believed, written and performed by occult author, Lon Milo DuQuette.
