I have a steep, downwardly-sloped driveway made of concrete. Its developed a crack right in the center of it from the top all the way to the bottom.
I’d ideally like to seal it with some kind of product. I know I can Google this but I am interested to see if anyone on here has specific experiences with certain products that have done a bang-up job in sealing their cracks and hopefully preventing further expansion.
I used PL brand Polyurethane Concrete Crack and Masonry Sealant. On a horizontal surface with some foot traffic it lasted 8 years before I took it out and traied patching cement. The patching cement appears to be too quick drying and it cracked. after a week.
I also used the sealant to seal cracks in a concrete stairway and the seal hos bo=een it place for over 8 years with no problem. It provides a flexible gasket like seal which should withstand gradual expansion of the crack, and if not, you can easily peel it off and re-seal.
Someone with experience using concrete patching cement on a steep slope may give you advice on patching cement.
Thanks! I’m not overly concerned about color-matching but you raise a valid point: is the degree of slope a concern in as far as what kind of product I should use?
The degree of slope is not an issue with urethane type sealants as they are flexible when they dry. Concrete will possibly sag, but again I have not tried concrete patching a steep slope.
