I’ve done a couple of searches and I can’t find it, but my favorite SDMB post of all time was in a thread in GQ asking what a T. Rex could do with his tiny little forearms.

It was that very post that my wife used to introduce me to the Dope ages ago. Although I have laughed at many a post since then, it holds a special place in my heart.

She’s actually used it multiple times (often in funeral threads), but this one may be what you’re talking about…
Eve wasn’t the one that came up with that. She was just repeating it from an earlier thread. The originator was a guy named Wildest Bill who has been gone many years because of a tragic banning accident. Bill was actually an interesting and witty guy with good stories but the general consensus was that he just wasn’t bright enough to hang around us. Still, his legacy still haunts the boards in small ways today.
This OP has got to be one of the funniest I’ve ever read.
Another vote for the Blimp story. I’ve actually saved that to a word-pad file on my computer for when I need a laugh.

Jumping on the blimp bandwagon. I tried to read it aloud to my husband, and couldn’t get through it. It’s near the top of the list of funniest things I’ve ever read in my life.
I’ve been lurking here a long time. My favorite post has to be lieu’s comment on the threatening nature of bad grammar in the “I burning your dog” thread.

My personal favorite was from this one by scissorjack (it’s #7), long preceding my membership here. (There are several more like it afterward in that thread – it’s really worth reading the entire thing.)
