Best Day, Worst Day

In the spirit of “City Slickers”, What was the best day of your life? What was the worst day of your life?

This is a tough question. My answers thus far are:

BD: I have a condition known as hyperhidrosis. For me, this meant that my hands and feet sweated profusely, to the point that I did not want to shake hands or touch anyone else. I have had this for as long as I can remember. I don’t think I can convey the degree of depression I experienced because of this. I tried a number of different cures, but none of them worked. I was seriously considering ending my life, as I did not want to spend my life like this. Just about the time I was REALLY trying to think of how I was going to end my life, I was introduced to the Internet. I started to do searches on the net for this condition, and to my surprise, I found a cure! It was only done in Sweden, so I had to borrow and save as much money as I could. I am happy to report that it was successful (only on my hands, but that was the main problem anyway), and that I am now planning my marriage and looking forward to a long, happy life.

WD: I was in 8th grade English class (It was a pretty boring class) and was bored to death. I heard the beep of our intercom and prayed that it was for me. The voice said “Can you send Heembo down to the office, please?” I was ecstatic! I was out of class for at least 20 minutes. When I got down to the office, I found out that my dad had been seriously hurt on the job (Firefighter, line of duty) - he later died of complications. I felt like shit for years because I asked for that announcement. In any case, a really bad day.

Looking forward to your stories,

Heembo

There is simply no way anything I might share could stand up to what you’ve put out there, heembo. I wouldn’t even try.

Best day in my life:
Getting together with “the girl”.

Worst day in my life:
Three days later, girl says “that was a mistake”.

Best day recently was when I passed my Private Pilot Checkride. Perfectly clear in December of all times, I flew my very best, passed with no problem, and had sushi to celebrate. Can’t beat that.

Worst day recently was…

Hmm. Guess I’m lucky. Can’t think of a day so bad recently that it deserves to be rebuked here.

BD: After twenty plus years of suffering from day long blinding headaches which were eventually diagnosed as sinus related (hell, I had surgery for it!) I went to a new dentist who looked into my mouth and diagnosed a jaw problem. Minor correction, and no more headaches, just like that! Changed my life, you cannot begin to imagine how much.

WD: I relinquished a child to adoption when I was only a child myself. I knew then, if I lived to be 1000 years old, I would never be as old again as I was at 16.

Simple and not very unusual:

Best day: our wedding.
Worst day: the death of my mother.
