Best Divorce Lawyer in St. Louis?

No sleazy/cheesy. I just want a fair deal.

Here use this: http://www.martindale.com/

Also, if your spouse hasn’t gotten an attorney yet, go meet with the top 5 and discuss your potential divorce with each of them. Hire the one you think is best. The other four should be precluded from representing your spouse due to conflict of interest.

This would not work well in St Louis, which I am sure has a much larger population of divorce lawyers, but I once knew a woman who took that even further and called every single lawyer (who dealt with divorce) in the phone book for their area. She told each the bare minimum about her divorce, just enough to keep them from representing her husband. Her husband was forced to hire an attorney from another county and pay for travel time in addition to the regular attorney fees etc. But this was in a much smaller town so her phone calls amounted to wasting a day or so…in St Louis I would imagine such an endeavor could result in wasting weeks of time.

Not that I recommend doing anything remotely like that. If you truly are only interested in fair representation then hiring who you believe to be the best should be enough.

So nice to see people jump to “here is how to screw him the most” rather than “here is how to get a fair and reasonable seperation.”

Any half-decent attorney who practices family law knows that this is a common game. They won’t delve into any details which would preclude them from representation without getting a retainer first.

Sorry about the last post. That’s what happens when you leave the room with a four year old and a computer.

awesome.

check your on-line brokerage accounts

That’s what I’m going to do when I get married. Just talk to attorneys about my potential divorce.

Splendid! Will your wedding registry be with West Publishing?

I don’t have to think about *THAT *until I get a date.

BTW, this is about her being stuck with a shlub like me. Not the other way around.

pfft. Lexis is far more upmarket

Thomson is just so… ubiquitous. Not enough cachet-via-exclusivity.

Back to the OP …

My wife is a corporate attorney in St. Louis. She recommends

Bryan Hettenbach
314-863-6200
212 S. Central
Clayton

She has sent several clients to him for divorces and all have been pleased with the workmanship & the results. Definitely not a sleazeball.

Interesting, I’m meeting with an attorney on Weds very near that same address! Seems like a good fit, but I’ll keep this info in mind as well. Thanks!

From the “Burns And Allen” radio show…

Gracie is interviewing a lawyer for George who got a parking ticket

Gracie) Now Mr Smith, what kind of lawyer are you? A corporate lawyer? A criminal attorney? Or just a plain shyster

Lawyer) [taken aback] A shyster?

Gracie) Well that’s honest of you to admit it. Now are you a good lawyer?

Lawyer) I think most people would call me an excellent lawyer

Gracie) I’m not interested in what most people would think. If I was, I wouldn’t have gotten married

…And now back to your regularly scheduled thread…
