I notice my Xbox 360 is better than my PS3 at playing scratched up discs, but the 360 falls short too.
Is there a particular model that is considered a superior model for damaged discs. Looking online there are forums where people ask this, but the questions are 5+ years out of date and I’m sure the tech is better now.
Best source would be an employee of a company that makes DVD players.
Years ago, I remember visiting a customer (my company sells software) that did DVD drive development, and they had a “reference model” drive that either they or one of their competitors had made, along with a pile of scuffed and scratched disks. If the reference model could play it, then their new models all had to be able to play it as well.
Sadly, I don’t remember what the reference model was.
