Best kisses on television (spoilers?)

Soap operas don’t count.

I watched the season finale of Joan of Arcadia last night, and I was reminded of how good the Grace/Luke kiss was. Both young folk are excellent actors, and the clinch was a WHEEEEEEEEEE moment if I ever saw one.

Also in that show, was the Luke/Glynnis first kiss, where she’s talking about her volunteering at the Y and explaining sexuality to junior high kiss. The two nerds discuss blood pressure and pulse speed as they inch closer and closer together.

In the world of mini-series, any of Ralph/Meggie’s kisses in The Thorn Birds was passionate but the one on the beach, where he finally gives in to his love for her, was another “sigh” moment.

Which is your favorite kiss on television? Which actors made you fall so in love with their characters that you were swept up in their kiss as much as they were?

The best kiss was at the end of Once More With Feeling, when Spike and Buffy finally, finally, finally lock lips and she’s saying it’s not real and he’s just desperate to touch her…sigh

The kiss at the end of Tabula Rasa is a very close second, I think because of what they didn’t show. Did Buffy jump up and chase after him? Grab his arm? Kiss him first?

Also, at the end of Your Welcome, when Cordelia runs back to Angel’s arms and they have their first and last real kiss.

I really do not like that scene despite liking Luke. His science dialog is usually so incredibly forced that it just takes me out of an episode.

So far as my suggestions go, I’d have to say (the first?) kiss between Rachel and Ross on Friends when Rachel sees the videotape of him in a tux to take her to prom when she was jilted but then couldn’t go because her boyfriend decided to go again after all.

Being all too familiar with unrequited love (and having a bit of a crush on Jennifer Aniston), I really enjoyed that scene.

Best kiss on television. . . umm- without a doubt the tonsil massage that Al Gore gave Tipper at the 2000 Democratic National Convention.

Thanks, 5-Time. You’ve just reminded me of the Lisa Presley/Michael Jackson kiss.

The Princess Bride?

I was going to say Tara and Willow’s first on-screen kiss in “The Body.” Because of the nature of the episode (it involved the death of a major re-occuring character, for those who don’t watch the show), it wasn’t meant to tittilate, or be edgy or groundbreaking. It was just two characters coping with enormous emotional pain by turning to the one person who is more important to them than anyone else. I thought it was wonderfully touching and romantic.

Also, hot.

Nope. That’s a movie. I want best TV series/mini-series kisses.

Definitely Kurzon Dax and the ex-wife from back when the symbiont was in a male body. Plus, you have to wonder just how far down those Trill spots go.

To their feet. (cite: “Change of Heart”)

And if you are talking about the lesbian kiss in “Rejoined”, the Dax host that was married to Kahn’s host was Torias, not Curzon.

Cheers. Sam and Diane.

“Are you as turned on as I am?”
“More!”
“Bet me!”

Ahhhh…

For my money, my favorite kiss on TV was in Buffy “Graduation Day” when Cordelia and Wes have the kiss with the least chemistry in the history of broadcasting.
