Best manager in MLB is ?

18th in wins and 2 WS titles? I think he gets in if he retired after this season.

Ned Yost.

I mean, he doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing, he does almost EVERYTHING wrong, and his team STILL wins! He HAS to be a genius. Either that or he sold his soul to Satan.

I long for the day when a Dodger manager might be mentioned in this thread.

Things might have been quite different had Scioscia taken over for Tommy all those years ago.

Everyone says this and yet I keep waiting for him to make some boneheaded move and he never does. He manages pretty much the same way everyone else does.

People put so much emphasis on in-game strategy, but truth be told I believe it’s a very small difference between managers. No MLB manager does anything insane, like bat the pitcher cleanup or play Billy Butler at shortstop.

I haven’t seen him do anything really dumb, either. My answer wasn’t serious- just my way of noting that, if the guy keeps winning in spite of being perceived as an idiot, MAYBE he’s actually a genius in disguise.

More seriously, there are a always a lot of perfectly okay managers out there, a few awful ones, and even fewer brilliant ones.

If I had to give a SERIOUS answer as to who’s the best… I suppose I’d pick Bochy, but not with any real certainty or enthusiasm.
