The soundtrack to The Big Lebowski is pretty good.

Snatch. Guy Ritchie has great taste in music.
I always get nostalgic for both Footloose and Beverly Hills Cop.
The Graduate. I don’t know about the incidental music, but the Simon and Garfunkel stuff? Forget it. Very memorable soundtrack that captures its era, has some great songs, and works well with the film.
Not only that, you got the number wrong. It’s Fahrenheit 451.
I’d nominate just about anything by Danny Elfman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Labyrinth.
A second vote for Peter Gabriel’s soundtrack the Passion for “The Last Temptation of Christ”.
I also liked his score for “Birdy”.
The music used in “O Brother, where art thou” was also very good and opened a lot of people up to Bluegrass.
The Big Lebowski. The soundtrack is a constant presence in my WinAmp playlist.
Reservoir Dogs. All Tarantino movies, actually.
Star Wars. Ooooh yeah.
Oh Brother Where Art Thou is excellent.
The Wedding Singer is loads of nostolgia.
O.K.? But the friggin CD costs like $30, so I don’t have a copy yet.
My favorite soundtracks, in order:
[ol]
[li]The Rapture[/li][li]The Umbrellas of Cherbourg[/li][li]Beetlejuice[/li][/ol]
kungfulola I too I can’t beleive I am going to say this on a public message board…* Love Snatch.* Haven’t bought the CD. Snatch has to be one of my top five films.
Sorry, #1 should be “hack her to death with a kitchen knife.”
I’m a big fan of The Big Lebowski soundtrack too.
Requiem for a Dream would be a much poorer film without the soundtrack - it’s integral to it.
John Williams Star Wars suite, which i’ve heard done live. That too is so closely tied with the films I don’t think of one without the other.
Amelie - It’s just so damn happy.
Grosse Pointe Blank - There are actually two soundtracks to it - the first has more of the ska on it, and the second has more of the 80s songs (from the reunion scene). Both are really excellent.
High Fidelity - Actually, John Cusack movies in general seem to have pretty decent music.
The Royal Tenenbaums - See comment above. Replace “John Cusack” with “Wes Anderson.” The same can also be said of Quentin Tarantino.
Everything else I’d list has already been listed.
Footloose. I could listen to those songs forever.
South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut. Musical brilliance, in a wide variety of styles.
Titanic. No doubt an unpopular pick on this board, because this board is too avant-garde to enjoy such a massively popular movie or such a massively popular singer as Celine Dion. But her song (which I do like) is the least of the assets of this soundtrack. The music is so haunting, and matched the pacing of the movie so well (all the while staying within a single theme), I just had to buy it on CD as soon as I could after seeing the movie. And I won’t apologize for that.
I love my Jurassic Park soundtrack to no end. John Williams’ music is wonderful.
Also, say what you want about the movie, but I really dig Resident Evil’s soundtrack.
I don’t think you need to apologize for what you like. I liked the Titanic soundtrack too, but I must admit I got way tired of that song.
I would like to nominate the following electic list:
*Unforgiven
Jackie Brown
Magnolia
Desperado
The Godfather I & II
The Sting
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Akira
Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
*
I am sure I am missing some ones I love, but this is a good start
Confining my answers to non-musicals.
The Mission, Ennio Morricone
The Piano, Michael Nymann
Henry V, Patrick Doyle
Chariots of Fire, Vangelis
The English Patient, Gabriel Yared
Schindler’s List, John Williams
Gladiator, Hans Zimmer
Lawrence of Arabia, Maurice Jarre
