best of the best poetry anthology

please help me with my net search skills (or lack thereof)

I used to have a book of poems, that was the “best of the best” - the editor had searched anthologies of poems to find the ones that had been anthologised the most. I think about 500 poems in English.

came out in the early nineties, with a blue cover in paperback.

I’ve lost my copy and can’t find it online.

Could you mean The Norton Anthology of Poetry? I have an older edition than the one shown in the link and it has kind of a plain dark blue cover.

…or possiblythis one called The Top 500 Poems?

That’s it! thanks! I was googling "Best of " variations. Now I remember that the complier uses that phrase in his intro, not in the title.
