Best place in US weatherwise.

That might be a hard one to fill.

Might I suggest Sequim (pronounced skwim) Washington? All the benefits of Pacific Northwest Living, plus it’s in the rainshadow of the Olympic Mountains, so not as much rain.

San Diego has cool(not cold)winters, and warm(not hot)summers.

I’d second Hawaii.

But since you specified a min temp of 20F, maybe you were thinking of someplace that has some seasonal variation. How about the Pacific Northwest? Proximity to the ocean tempers the cold weather.

The downside is frequent rain.

I am actually looking for variation in the seasons. I like the idea of Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Call me old fashioned, but when its haloween, you need yellow, orange and red leaves on the trees.
Thanks,
Ben

I also like San Diego.

But, an alternative is Savannah Ga.

I lived there for about a year. You may be in a rain shadow but you are not in a cloud shadow. From the end of November to the end of February, the sun did not make an appearance. And it does get cold there, I had to scrape ice off my windshield most winter mornings. It is also nice if you don’t mind isolation. Seattle is a 3 hour drive away and it takes a floating bridge that can be open for traffic when you arrive (minimum 20 minute wait) and then you must take a ferry across the sound. You can drive down through Tacoma to avoid the ferry but that adds another hour. The choice of radio stations is limited, most are Canadien. That was back in 1984 though but I have heard they now have a Wal-Mart and a Mcdonalds now.

I lived in San Diego until I was 15. People who live there say its weather is perfect. Codswallop! In the winter it was never cold enough, and in the summer it was too hot. It didn’t rain enough.

In short, San Diego “weather” is boring.

I like the northern coast of Washington. It rains a lot (which I like), and the sunny days are usually not too hot. It’s often cold, and I like it that way.

I’m still sending out résumés, and as soon as I can get a job up there I’m moving!

As for L.A., it seems to me that most people who like the weather here are from someplace else.

Another voite for Southern California. Mediterranian climate as long as you don’t venture too far inland.

And a BYPASS!

I love San Diego, and San Francisco.

When I was in U.S. Naval Reserves, we went to Active Duty in both, San Di & San Fran, so when I went active duty, I decided San Diego, or San Francisco, was were I wanted to be stationed.

Got stationed on board ship in San Diego, and have been to San Francisco many times, have been to Hawaii three times.

Have been to Seattle - Bangor/Bremerton Wa, and Victoria BC.

I’m a change-of-seasons kinda gal, so I’ll say NYC.

Hmm, perhaps Santa Cruz?

The closer you get to the coast, the less you’ll be dealing with extremes. My parents lived in Florence, Oregon (on the coast west of Eugene) for a few years. It would often be sunny and 60 there in January while it was cold and drizzly in Corvallis.

Also lived in Port Angeles, about 15 miles west of Sequim. Some winters, you can be in for a decent bit of snow, but for the most part, it’s pretty temperate. Downside, IMO, is that it’s not warm many days out of the year. Being acclimated to southern New Mexico, I find it very cold there, even in May. They do have WalMart and Costco, now though it does have a rather isolated feel to it.
