I like plains. Especially those rolling, golden grassy plains you can find in the Southern United States. A low-lying river cutting through plains would be the icing on the cake.
The perfect weather for me would be around 70F/21C, 75% humidity and a UV Index of about 5-6 in the day. It’s warm enough that you can feel very comfortable in it all day.
I like woods, but I also like vistas. I guess, like a deer, I enjoy the meadow at the edge of the woods, especially if it overlooks mountains and I can hear a stream nearby. For lounging I like perhaps 70-75F, but if I’m active I prefer it cooler. And it’s nice if it’s sunny so long as there is shade for me to retreat into.
The beaches are pretty nice, especially the ones on the outskirts of the city (not the city centre but the city itself). Often they are surrounded by hills with flora unique to Perth itself. Adds a very nice touch.
Perth’s climate is also found in parts of California. But be warned, although it is dry, it can get pretty hot in the summers (a HOT day would be 110F) and it stay above 85F at night. It is windy so the hot air is blown right back at you. We also have an average UV Index of 11. I personally found 90f with 80% humidity in Indonesia way more comfortable than 110f with 20% humidity in Perth. It’s very sticky, but if you can get past that it’s actually nice… not too hot, but hot enough that you can enjoy it. You also get rain afterwards which helps.
I’m not sure such a place would exist; one that “checks all the boxes” of my preferences, but here they are:
Temperate. I want 4 seasons; this is not negotiable. It’s OK to have cold-ish winters and even some snow, but nothing polar-vortex-y. Low humidity in the warmer times of year, and neither an upper 80s nor 90s be.
Demonstrably hilly but not necessarily mountainous, though mountains visible and/or accessible in an hour or 2 drive OK.
It must be green, again, not negotiable. Lush vegetation, lots of trees, pine and deciduous. No dust bowl-ish high desert or sun-scorched wild grass.
Waterways: lakes, ponds, rivers of varying lengths and widths.
I guess what I’m looking for is geography of the Eastern or near midwestern part of the US lower 48, but with the climate of the higher elevations of the US west.
I don’t like weather. So I’ll go with a steady temperature of 72F most of the day, peaking at 75F between noon and 1PM, settling down to 65F after dark until sunrise. Every afternoon at 2:30PM there will be a light rain, lasting no more than 10 minutes. Rain at night is variable but leaves no significant trace in the morning. This location is close to the coast but not too far from hills, mountains, and desert regions.
I’ll join you there. I agree, I want weather and seasons. I mean, for “right now” I mostly prefer sunny and 20C. But I want some thunderstorms, some snow storms, and enough precipitation overall that it’s green three seasons of the year.
Where ever I live has to have seasons, real seasons. Hot in the summer (but not too hot), cold and snowy in the winter. I can deal with occasional days of 100 degrees, but a high of 90 would be more comfortable. In winter, a days below zero are fine, down to -20 or so, and snow is a non-negotiable. I like to see snow out the window when I wake up in the morning.
Access to the mountains are critical, for hiking, skiing, and biking, but I don’t necessarily need to live IN the mountains. Someplace within an hour’s drive to a good ski hill, trail head, or bike park is key. Right now we live about 2 hours from the nearest big mountains and once we retire we’ll move closer. We live in the east and may not end up leaving here, but my ideal would be a mountain town in the Rockies or Cascades, within a 3 hour drive of a big city.
Coming from Oklahoma, whenever I’m in San Diego during the summer, my brain has a difficult type reconciling that the sun is shining brightly but that it’s only 72 degrees.
I spent most of my 59 years in Melbourne and surrounds. Never a dull moment weather-wise of course.
Now in FNQ, the view from one balcony is to small mountains and rainforest, and in the other direction a short walk to the warm waters of the Coral Sea and the Great Barrier Reef. Weather of course is tropical.

Montane Rainforests are also very nice.

I prefer seasonal variation. Cold enough to snow in the winter, but not too cold. Rain in Autumn and Spring. In summer I prefer it to be hot and very humid, but not above 95F/35C
