Best sequel movies of the 21st century so far?

The Two Towers
The Dark Knight
Mad Max: Fury Road
Bladerunner 2049
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

What sequels released this century deserve to be included?

Spider-Man 2 (2004) is still the best Spider-Man movie ever made.

I think Top Gun: Maverick was wildly overhyped, but still good.

Paddington 2.

Toy Story 3
Prey
Captain America The Winter Soldier

The Return of the King
John Wick 4
MI4-7

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would like a word.

Before Sunset
Before Midnight

49 Up

22 Jump Street

No really, I loved it!

Logan was the best Wolverine movie by far…

Do Bond films count? Casino Royale is brilliant.

Not a sequel though? Although the OP lists Fury Road and I’d argue that’s not a sequel either.

I’d put Fallout over Ghost Protocol (and, from a quick peek at Rotten Tomatoes, I’m not alone): the enemy strikes me as more interesting, the ‘mask’ trickery more entertaining, the fight scenes more thrilling— and, sure, it’s maybe close, but I think it gets the nod.

Ah yes, had a brain fade there. Reboot not sequel!
