HUH??? On this list, no town even comes close to Baltimore. The World’s Largest Outdoor Insane Asylum, The Baltimore Colts, the most loved team in sports history. The only town that has won it all in not just the NFL, but also the USFL ( Stars, '85 ) AND the CFL ( Stallions, '94 ) The Ravens sucked for 4 years, and tickets were at a premium. This year we won it all, and this town bleeds purple. The cheese heads and the puppy pound are the only ones who even come close.

Interesting sidelight, Phil. I don’t think you were here then, but when the NFL finished screwing us, and the Browns decided to move, the feeling here was pretty much universialy " I hope we rename the team ". We are well aware that “Browns” belongs in Cleveland. ( 'Sides, the uniforms are yucky ), as we have to endure the indignity of our beloved Colts name being in corn country instead of retired ( fair ) or returned home ( just ).
I say Baltimore is the #1 sports town in America. While the NBA is a thing of the past, we do hold an NBA championship (Bullets,1948) and the passion for the O’s remains hight, despite King Peter doing his best to kill it. Football we covered above. Our Camden Yards stadium complex is unmatched in the country, with Oriole Park and Ravens Stadium being the templates for most new venues built in their respective sports.
