All due respects - but you guys are defining steak as Porterhouse or Filet Mignon, etc.
If the OP had asked for the best “porterhouse” I would have said Peter Luger in Brooklyn- no hesitation.
If he had said best “prime rib” I would have said Durgin Park in Boston.
But to introduce you guys to CHURRASCO - You MUST try Porcão in Miami
This is South American rodizio at its finest! Different types of steak brought to your table on skewers in unending supply - while you eat yourself into steak lovers heaven!!! If you haven’t tried this yet, you don’t know what you are missing. My favorite is the garlic steak washed down with a Caipirinha Yummmmmmmm
John Q’s is good, you’re right. I’m also partial to the Cleveland Chop House, and Hyde Park Grille (which is spreading beyond Ohio, I’ve heard). Both have a lot of interesting and mouth-watering varieties to choose from.
As someone else said, dollar for dollar, Outback gets my pick. I may be lucky, and my local restaurant has sharp people at the grill, as I’ve only been disappointed by them once, and that was a “runner” problem as the plate got left at the pass for too long and kept on cooking under the heatlamps. Otherwise, they’re dependably quite good and
Ruth’s Chris is certainly good, but not three-four times as good as Outback, considering the prices are three-four times as much.
Both Morton’s and Papa’s (Houston) are exceptional and the only thing that made Smith & Wollensky’s better in my mind is the selection. I had at least 5 prime cuts to select from New Year’s and that Colorado Rib was one delectable, enormous, wonderful piece of cow.
Morton’s had better sides, Papa’s had better wines, S&W’s had better beef.
