Best Super Bowl Commercial, now or ever.

For me, it’s a tie between the cat herders and the Castaway FedEx guy.

I would personally vote for Terry Tate.

HERE COMES THE PAIN TRAIN! WOOOO WOOOO!

I can’t remember what it was for, but it was a few years ago. It was a chimp on a horse walking past fake internet companies that went under after the bubble burst. During part of it, he sees the sock puppet from the now-defunct pets.com, which IIRC had a lot of pricey superbowl ads a few years before.

Another E-Trade one.

And here it is.

I have a strong fondness for the Mean Joe Greene commercial.

I was going to name that and also the computer commercial in the 2000 Super Bowl in which the HAL 9000 explains that the Y2K disaster that he had planned didn’t occur because of this computer company. Was it Apple, Microsoft, IBM?

I was helping with the church youth group Super Bowl party, so I was sitting in a room of teenagers when this aired. I was the only one who got it. If the Youth Pastor even paid attention to it, I doubt he got it either.

Apple.

One of the best of all time, but I don’t think it first aired during the Superbowl.

You may be right. I dunno. There was a show on Saturday night where viewers got to vote for the best Superbowl adverts of all time. The Mean Joe Greene one was in the top three for the last 5 years or something like that. They said that they would retire it so that other adverts could get a chance. But that show might have gotten in wrong.

This article seems to think it was a Superbowl commercial as well.

Never seen that one before. Pretty sure “Wallace” is Patton Oswalt.
