Best TV theme song? Please post a link

The Equalizer. By Stewart Copeland.

Sledge Hammer!

The Mysterious Benedict Society

Only Murders In The Building

Gravity Falls

Theme from Harry’s Game by Clannad

It’s funny – when I was a kid in the 80s, Sledge Hammer was one of my favorite TV shots. When I heard the song “Sledge Hammer” won a Grammy, I was ecstatic. Until. Ooh … there’s another Sledge Hammer.

“Simon & Simon”

Single version:

Orchestral version:

I think it’s time we blow this scene. Get everybody and the stuff together. OK 3… 2… 1… let’s jam!

This was a cartoon series on “The N” that should have been more popular than it was. It starts at 0:41 in this link, and the theme is sung by Kelly Osbourne.

I still say the Spiderman theme is the best ever.

I didn’t see these upthread so apologies if I missed them:

I’m not sure this was ever the official theme from the NFL highlight films, but…

The theme song to Room 222, by Jerry Goldsmith:

The NBC Sports theme of the 70s and 80s. There are a few different versions, including one that starts with a distorted electric guitar. This one has the best sound and picture quality:

Two fairly recent themes

And, in a fit of enthusiasm, one obscure, one not so obscure…

Just FYI, the name of The Bob Newhart Show theme is, “Home To Emily.”

Back in high school, I went to a band adjudication and one of the other schools played TBNS theme and they were very good and at the end my friend sitting next to me meowed loudly. Some of us giggled.

Moone Boy: Irish sitcom with Chris Dowd that ran on Netflix years ago. Cute show. Had a memorable opening.

Sanford and Son

My favourite is a rather obscure one. An electronic number used in the UK for Channel 4’s coverage of the Tour de France. It’s rather elusive so I can only find the song from a recording off the radio (trust the brilliant BBC 6 Music to play this).

It was written by Pete Shelley - yes he of The Buzzcocks

I prefer the first season theme song.

Americans sure do love Sanford and Son, but here’s the theme music to Steptoe and Son, the UK original. It deliberately calls up the feeling of a horse-drawn cart over dismal cobblestone streets.

Maybe not the best, but there’s a few that I’ll watch all the way through, even if I’m watching multiple episodes on a row.

Twin Peaks, I like the music, but I could watch that saw blade being sharpened all day.

And from the other end of the spectrum, we have 30 Rock. I think part of why I like this one is how short it is. It’s just about over by the time I find the remote.

Let’s throw in Bewitched, just for fun.

Surely, I missed this upthread…

And while we’re at it…
