I’m writing a mystery novel in which a retired couple get incinerated inside their RV, but I don’t know how you’d go about igniting one. Trouble is, most RVs (like the Winnebago Vectra in my book) are diesel powered, so you can’t just stick a rag in the gas tank and light it. So, what’s the best way to blow one of these suckers sky high, short of blasting it with an RPG?
A lot of RVs carry a tank of propane or another liquified petroleum gas, which could be ignited ignited if the tank was pierced or if there was a leak.

You could also have an explosive buildup of methane due to an excess of metamucil and beans, or perhaps their meth lab explodes (a common method of destruction for mobile homes and RVs here in Iowa, home of the Winnebago).
The LPG tank would work if the RV were to fill up with the gas and then got sparked. I have seen a tank get tossed into a fire and then shot with a rifle. It was not that dramatic - kind of a let down.
Pour gasoline into one of the hatches then ignite after letting the fumes build.
I’d go with the propane idea - used to happen now and again on lake Windermere with boats - over-night leak, someone lights the stove for brekkie, KaBOOM!,boat burns to waterline and sinks, don’t remember anyone getting killed tho- they seemed to get blown clear (and getting blown clear is always a good trick)
