Best way to clean nickel-bronze cutlery set?

My daughter picked up a (140pc) set of Thai bronze cutlery at our local Goodwill store last week for $50 thinking she was going to make a humungous profit selling it on Ebay. But apparently those sets are common-as, many returning soldiers from SE Asia in the 60’s and 70’s bringing them back as gifts for pining families etc.

Oh well, never mind, it’s still a beautiful set, solid metal (no wooden bits) with each piece engraved with a three elephant heads. It’ll be a lovely asset the next time we put on a Thai banquet.

So me, being the patsy, offered to clean the set for her, getting rid of mild tarnish and whatever crud. Bought a bottle of Brasso (which does the job admirably I must say) but, putting it mildly, it IS rather labour-intensive innit??

I’ve done 13 pieces this afternoon, and face another (quick mental arithmetic) 127 to go. I could be here for DAYS. Oh, btw, do NOT open a new can of Brasso and take a sniff. Very bad idea. Just sayin’.

So, is there a way I can clean up the set without having to do each piece individually?

I use Coke (cola) to clean coins. Just let them soak in it taken rinse them off. You could try it with one piece.
