Your opinion? (For purposes of this thread, I will define “young” very generously to include anyone 40 and under.)
A few of my picks (in no particular order):[ul][li]Sean Penn (Just gets under the wire on the age limit.)[]Gwyneth Paltrow[]Edward Norton[]Johnny Depp[]Ben Affleck[/ul][/li]
Care to add to (or subtract from) that starter list? (Acting skill is the criterion here, not looks or charm, my friends.)
No offense, but some of these guys can no longer be considered young. At least, not in this context.
Sean Penn and John Cusak are older than ME fer chriissakes!
I was thinking Haley Joel Osmet.
Christian Bale, without a doubt. I will see anything with him in it – I even rented the wretched “All The Little Animals” because I thought that if he were acting in it, it couldn’t be as bad as I had heard.
I agree with the choices or Edward Norton and Christian Bale and though Hugh Jackman is dreeeaaamy, he couldn’t really display acting talents in X-men. I enjoyed the movie but come on! it was a movie dripping in cheese (dripping in cheese, sounds like a good idea for another movie).
And I must nominate Stephen Dorff and Ewan McGregor.
How about Kirsten Dunst? She’s pretty smashing. I highly recommend the hilarious “Drop Dead Gorgeous” for anyone who needs a little bit of levity in their day.

and I would’ve never though 10 years ago, but Mark Wahlberg.
A mighty interesting question! I concur with all of you who mentioned Edward Norton, Matt Damon and Haley Joel Osment.
As to the girls, I can’t believe nobody has mentioned the lovely Nathalie Portman and the enchanting Katie Holmes. Besides their obvious great looks they are awesome talents and the best actresses of their generation.
Among the guys who have not been mentioned, I definitely have to bring up Joshua Jackson and Jason Behr (Max, from Roswell). I truly believe they are two extremely talented dudes who will soon make it big.
In reference to actors who not are known for their dramatic talents but excel at comic performance:
Jason Mewes, who plays Jay opposite Kevin Smith’s Silent Bob. This guy is one of the funniest characters ever. Plus, I must not forget to credit the greatest comedian working right now: Chris Rock. That dude is damn funny!
