Heads-up on this new series on Netflix. A Russian SF series. I just stumbled on and watched the first episode and it wasn’t bad. 16 episodes available.
Haven’t watched it yet. Did you watch “Humans” from BBC? Looks really similar.
Watched Humans. After one episode of Better Than Us I can say that it is broadly similar to Humans in that it includes household robots, some but not all of which look very human, but that could be said about lots of TV series and movies. You can see elements of *A.I. *and Blade Runner and Ex Machana if you look for them, too.
The first episode opens with a child reciting Asimov’s three laws of robotics, so right away you know that those laws are probably going to be broken at some point.
Is it dubbed or subtitled?
Soft-subbed.
Dubbed too.
I tried but the dubbing was to distracting.
Is it an extension of Irobot? I stopped watching when the dad put his daughter in the car. I was thinking he’s probably going to get into a wreck and a robot is going to save him instead of his daughter. Thus igniting his hate for robots.
Didn’t stick around long enough to find out if that was the case.
Interesting that everyone in Future Russia wears these.
If you are asking if it is an extension of a short story collection by Isaac Asimov, then no. If you are asking if it is an extension of a Will Smith movie, then no. If you are asking if it is an extension of the company that makes the Roomba, then no.
I just watched the first episode. The dubs were distracting, so I switched to subs and that worked fine.
I wasn’t sure if it was going to be worth watching until Arisa started doing her (it’s?) thing. I’m definitely going to keep watching.
Binge watched the whole thing. Thanks for the suggestion! It was quite good I thought, with a lot of twists. I liked the Russian setting and the fact that there was very little Russian propaganda in it.
