Biblical Analysis/Criticism Websites?

Last night, while enduring another evening of insomnia, I caught an episode in the “Genesis” series on PBS, moderated by Bill Moyers. It was a discussion group format that focused on a specific section of the book Genesis. Although the group was primarily composed of authors, there was nevertheless a wide range of backgrounds, including religious background. The episode I caught was called “The First Murder”, and it was about the story of Cain and Abel.

I found it to be utterly and totally fascinating. I’ve read the book of Genesis a number of times, but never before I had I encountered such an analysis of the material. I’m definitely going to try to catch the remainder of the series, whenever it airs.

I hope that you have seen this series, for it will make my question easier to understand. Are there any websites out there that are about Biblical scholarship/analysis/criticism that you have found particularly insightful and interesting? When I tried looking for a site like this using Yahoo, I didn’t get very far, for I kept running into places that had their own particular slant or bias, as stemming from their own particular faith/denomination. And just typing in “Bible” in Google results in over 10 million hits, which is a rather inconviently large result. Using “Bible Criticism” and “Bible Analysis” also yielded inconveniently large numbers of websites. What I’m really looking for is an ecumenical or multi-faith perspective analysis of the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, which is material that I am admittedly less familiar with.

And by website, I don’t mean like a message board system, such as the SDMB or the Pizza Parlor. I mean a website devoted specifically (perhaps through articles or essays) to the analysis of Biblical texts, much in the same way that I saw on the “Genesis” program on PBS.

Can anyone advise?

[sub]Note: I didn’t post this in Great Debates because I’m not looking for a debate…just pointers to websites that is devoted to ecumenical analyses of Biblical texts.[/sub]

This site is clearly has a slant against biblical literalism, but you may get some small use from it.

I remember watching that series when it first aired.

I don’t know if you’ve already gone through it, but this is the list of references on the show’s website. There might be something there.
