Does anyone really know what Jesus Christ looked like? Is there any written description of him in antiquity?
Really know? No but a BBC programme Son of God had a damned good try.
People in the medieval era/ Renaissance wanted to, and accept a document known as the Letter of Lentulus, who was an alleged Roman bureaucrat of some sort (doing this from memory-- sort about the vague facts here) who described Christ in a lette to another high-up bureaucrat-- hazel eyes, brown hair parted in the middele, etc. Later it was determined that this was a much later forgery, though, but at the time it legitimized the commonly accepted idea which has come down to us culturally.
