The speedo on my '07 Elantra is off by 4 MPH and the dealership + Hyundai claim that this is normal.
They’re willing to repair it, but by shipping the speedo off for depot repair, during which time I’ll have no car to drive.
I’m thinking it might be better to just get my hands on a single-function OBD-II display, and slap it in front of my regular speedo.
Does anyone make a product like this?
I can’t find one…
The Scangauge will do this and offer more functions than just speed display. http://www.scangauge.com/ At $170, it’s proably your least expensive option anyway. The gas mileage display can even help you save some money on gas, I know a lot of people use them just for this purpose.
A GPS navigation unit can display speed as well. You can find low-end versions for about $100.
Hmmm.
I should have mentioned that I already have a Scangauge.
My request was in the way of finding a device with somewhat larger characters.
I already have a GPS. It hadn’t occurred to me that I could just use the speed display for everyday driving, but I suppose it makes sense.
Thanks!
Aside from these two ideas, my question stands:
Anyone have an OBD-II-fed display with big-assed characters on it?
