Big Drug Bust

Last week the news was telling about this big drug bust, people who had stolen $70 million worth of drugs from a New Jersey warehouse. I assume that this is the street value of the drugs. I’m thinking that the company probably did not even have insurance, because the cost of producing the drugs was so small. Does anyone have an idea of what was actually stolen, and what it cost to produce?

This story [http://www.northjersey.com/news/Federal_officials_bust_NJ_prescription_drug_ring.html] seems like the one you’re talking about.

Since the list of drugs stolen [antidepressants, anti-psychotics and treatments for cancer, acne, epilepsy, arthritis, autoimmune disorders and other ailments] includes several that aren’t used recreationally, it might be that they’re using a typical prescription cost in arriving at the $80 million.

It looks like the ring stole drugs from various locations [warehouses and tractor-trailers]. I’d think a tractor trailer would need to be insured in order to be licensed. Ditto for a warehouse where controlled drugs are stored.

As you can see, they were stealing prescription drugs that don’t fit the usual stereotype of abused drugs. Also whisky, cases of cigarettes, cell phones and inflatable boats.
