Wow, you couldn’t possibly fail to get it more than this. The show has explained in excrutiating detail exactly how and why Weber gaming is not against their religion.
At least we entertain each other, as your clueless outrage is pretty comical.

You poor thing. You think I’m outraged? By a television show? Really? This is a discussion. If you’re thinking this is nearing anything like outrage you’re so far removed from reality that I fear for you.
Once again: Bill and Don could purchase insurance for their families instead of manipulating and falsifying the legal business documents. That is something they could easily do. They choose not to. It really is just that simple.
As far as Weber Gaming: I remember Bill doing a lot of rationalizing how this wasn’t against their religion, but I remember nothing that actually agreed with the teachings of the Mormon church that I’ve ever read about.
But you go ahead and believe that everyone who agrees with you doesn’t get it if it makes you feel better. Why, people couldn’t just gasp disagree with you even after you’ve explained your reasons, could they? That would be simply unheard of.
Ellis Dee, Sleeps With Butterflies – you’re both inching towards the line that marks the boundary of “personal insults” – don’t go there, please.

Cite? Which Utah or Federal laws were broken in this fictional account of polygamy. And why isn’t Don in jail now?
Ahhh the old Doper “Cite!?!” game.
If you really need me to cite specific laws to know that falsification of time documents (work documents=legal documents and that’s just one aspect of this situation) is against the law then I’m not sure what to tell you. I’m not about to sit and look up legal code to satisfy your defiance of logic. Believe it or believe it not, it matters zero to me.
As to why Don isn’t in jail right now? I would suppose him being a fictional character might have something to do with it. If that doesn’t do it for you then maybe the storyline isn’t over yet? The investigation was about illegal aliens possibly working for HomePlus and the worry over the impropriety was mentioned between Don and Bill. Naturally they were worried it would make them exposed. I’m sorry they didn’t specifically say “And we’ll be in trouble for having fake work records for people who’ve never worked here!” to satisfy you, but them’s the breaks.
This discussion is breaking down to absolute nitpickery that this board is so famous for. If anyone really believes that it’s perfectly okay for employers (who are bound by federal, state, and local laws of all kinds) to make up fake employee records for people just to get medical insurance then I say live on in fantasyland and we’ll agree to disagree. As I’ve already mentioned: I’m not wasting my time rummaging through legal code to supply you with something else to pick apart.
Boys and Girls… what part of “Bill Henrickson does not practice mainstream mormonism” are you not grokking? I’ve said it numerous times in these threads. We’ve also said that he doesn’t really practice the FLDS religion. The Henricksons practice their own brand of mormon-based religion and they can decide that gaming is fine or an egregious sin if they want to. You are all welcome to call up your local mormon missionaries and ask them if gambling is against their religion or not. Then show them an episode of Big Love and ask them if this is a fair and accurate representation of mormonism. Or ask a Doper mormon, there’s quite a few around here.
As for this tax fraud debate: really, people. Back away from your computer. It’s just not that big a deal.
Bolding mine.
You do realize the contradiction in that statement, right?
As far as some of the other stuff you wrote in that post (not quoted), I haven’t made a single post about the morality of Bill and Don’s actions. I just refuted what two people said about there being nothing illegal about the way they insured their non-legal dependents through Home Plus. Morally, I’m sure they could tell themselves that they are just trying to provide for their extended families in whatever way they can.
