Big Newsweek release on Trump

Kurt Eichenwald is dropping a Twitter storm on Trump today, releasing all the dirt he’s managed to dig up on the giant orange douche. He’s on #48 at the time I write this, and says he has enough to last all day. Evidence of fraud, shady behavior, multiple multiple multiple lies, it’s all here.

My favorite:

  1. In 1990, one of Trump’s lieutenants told me ““The thing you don’t understand about Donald Trump is that he’s mentally ill.”

No one knows who this guy is, it’s too big a dump, and it’s far too late to matter. This won’t change a single vote.

You’re probably right that it’s too late to matter, but the guy is a legitimate, well-known journalist, and I imagine this will be picked up by all the major news outlets.

This is a great idea. Unfortunately, Kurt Eichenwald is the wrong person to do it. And the execution is so-so.

For instance, the #31 could have been devastating in the right hands, sourced and vetted. As it is it strikes me as obvious hearsay and slander, at best. (Coming from someone who’s perfectly willing to believe that Donald Trump has severe mental health issues.)

Mentally, he’s probably sound, more or less. His “spirit animal” is a sewer rat.

He said all of this was published in Newsweek. It’s too bad he doesn’t link to the articles.

If someone who happens to write for Newsweek tweets something, it’s not really a “Newsweek release” is it? This sounds pretty lame. “I’m tweeting everything I couldn’t put into a proper article today!”

Kurt Eichenwald is very likely going to win the Pulitzer for his investigative journalism on Trump this year. So he’s far from a nobody.

Yeah, definitely not a nobody–I’ve seen his name many times during the election cycle–, but not a household name, either.

Really? because all those tweets seemed like old news. Did Eichenwald break the original stories on all of them?

An info-dump like this is going to have minimal effect on the election when it’s released the day before. This looks more like a self-publicity event.

My money’s on David Fahrenthold of the Washington Post for the Pulitzer, myself. That’s been some hardcore, old school reporting.

Just goes to prove that the system is rigged.

Yeah, he’s the main name that gets tossed about among my journo friends, and who my money’s on, too.

And this is the same Eichenwald that recently tweeted and under scrutiny deleted the “my tech experts tell me 650k emails is impossible to fit on a laptop” right?

What will be? Tweet #17 or Tweet #49? Seriously, it’s a jumble of accusations, most of which are quite boring.

There is no chance at all this will be a major news story.

And I see he also tweeted and quickly deleted something about Trump being institutionalized that he had no backup for.

WaPo article

I am betting that if he spends the day tweeting his leftover Trump notes, he’s gonna get himself in more trouble.

MEA CULPA! I meant **Fahrenthold **for the Pulitzer! That’s what I get for doing anything on a Monday after the time change.

Yeah, he should have known that Trump would never seek help for his problems.
