Personally, I’m just sort of worn out.
NOOOOO! Too many! Please file candidacy forms for the 2024 election if you’re Dem. If you’re GOP, step right up front!
Ugh. He’s not even that great of a mayor.
Let me just commend the excellent thread title/OP username match here.
I don’t know much about de Blasio specifically, but I have to say that “Mayor of New York City” seems like it should be at least as credible a qualification as being a US Senator, or being Governor of a largely white rural State.
I would say more credible than Senator or Congressperson who has never had executive experience.
Nah, I expected it. Fucker’s got an ego.
Weird. I thought he was already in. I’ve been seeing his name in polls.
If Stephen Colbert is to be believed, de Blasio’s pre-announcement support in New Hampshire was 0%. Not only that but 76% of NYC voters don’t want him to run, and I’m guessing some of them actually LIKE him.
On the one hand, New York City is a lot bigger than, say, Arkansas. On the other, though, unlike a governor, the buck doesn’t stop with a mayor: City government is subordinate to state government. And I’d really prefer to see some federal experience on a Presidential candidate.
All that said, regardless of how a big-city mayor looks in general, De Blasio specifically doesn’t appear to be a very strong candidate.
De Blasio might want to consider what happened to Rudy Giuliani, “America’s Mayor.”
23’s Not Enough
NYC voters who want him to run just want him out of NYC and NYC politics (and don’t realize he’s term-limited - voters aren’t all that smart). They figure less BdB while he’s campaigning is the better option.
Wow. Mayor of New York really is the most thankless job in the world, isn’t it?
Warren Wilhelm* is a delusional lightweight, and I say that even though I voted for him. Didn’t he do any polling? The guy isn’t even governor material. Landing the mayoral gig was punching above his weight.
- He should have kept his given name. It doesn’t have “blah” in it. The slogan for his mayoral campaigns could have been I’m blasé about de Blasio.
Heh, was gonna say that. And that happened back *before *Rudy went full-time, full-strength wack.
