Bill Gates, what the FUCK were you thinking?

FWIW, I chuckled when I saw blowero’s post.

What makes you think Bill Gates has anything to do with the features or behavior of the software his company makes? I don’t think he’s written a line of code since BASIC on the Apple II.

The responsibility is ultimately his. And I just lost another post. Neither ctrl-v nor ctrl-z worked. Is there a way to disable macros?

Because your typing skills suck, now the rest of us have to learn new keyboard shortcuts??? CTRL+Z works fine, thanks.

Actually, the responsibility is ultimately… YOURS.

I love it when computer-morons forget things like ALT-Backspace and then blame Bill Fucking Gates. Dumbass, take a computer course and stop blaming others for your ineptitude.

Sam

Yes. Ctrl-Z works just fine in IE. I don’t know where he got that info. It has for as long as I can remember.

I wonder how many curses to Bill Gates are uttered/thought/yelled/cried out from the heart’s darkness every single day (hour/minute/second/nanosecond)?

Just goes to show how ineffective cursing is, becaause he’s still mega mega rich, mega powerful, probably has big houses and cars and good health, (women? wife??) and is grinning to himself and rubbing his hands with glee as he counts a big pile of gold and we all suffer the Hell of Windows.

It’s amazing, Istara…I don’t “suffer the hell of windows”. Windows works fine for me, I know how to get my text back when it “disappears”, I know how to find my files, and when it does need the occasional reboot, I don’t whine.

He’s rich, he’s powerful, and yes, he has a wife.

Sam

Speak for yourself, lowly user of Microsoft operating systems!

To paraphrase an old Bobcat Goldthwait line: Blaming Bill Gates for something your computer does is like blaming Ronald McDonald when you get a bad hamburger.

Rex Fenestrarum: you’ve never heard of ctrl-x before? And no, ctrl-z did not work.

SPOOFE: the features or behavior of the software BG’s company makes are my responsibility?

I should have to take a computer course if I want to know how to write javascript. I shouldn’t have to take a computer class to know how to keep my computer from deleting my posts. I’m not blaming others for my “ineptitude”, I’m blaming others for the fact that a simple mistake can have consequences way out of proportion to what it should.

You seem to think that because you know more about computers than me, you’re better than me.

Look, You’re an idiot in front of a screen. You think a mouse is a rodent, and you couldn’t find your arse out of a paper bag if the bottom broke out. You ARE blaming someone else(Bill Gates, remember?), for your ineptitude(lack of understanding computers leads computer-Junior to think all the text was “gone”).

Your Fault, YOUR ineptitude. Time for the carrier pigeons and the good 'ol IBM type-a-writer.

At least buy a “How to teach a dummy computers” book and stop wasting space on the messageboard with your whining about Bill “The Evil Overlord” Gates.

I don’t think I’m better than you, but if you whine on the SDMB about a software company Exec “stealing” your text, it makes you look a bit on the dull side. Take a class, buy a book, stop crying and NEXT TIME USE ALT-BACKSPACE!

Sam

Well, in all due fairness, it is not really the fault of any of the software people. Were I the guy designing the original (IBM?) keyboard layout*, I would have made sure “control”, “alt”, and any other such “do something” key were NOT right next to the shift keys. Just so I don’t command the document to print while trying to type a capital P, for instance.

Oh, my. Where’s that Hamburglar chap when we really need him?

Sorry if My Dullness is apparent as I miss the veiled reference to Either a former SDMB poster or Ronald McDonald’s buddy…

No, I’m not. The most you could reasonably claim is that I’m blaming someone else for the results of my ineptitude. I’m not blaming anyone else for my pressing ctrl-a, or for not knowing how to fix it. I’m blaming someone else for that causing me so much problems. It is not my “ineptness” which caused “cntl-a [any character] to deletes your post” to be true.

Ryan, you were inept and fat-fingered the keys. You also don’t know dick about how to reasonably navigate in IE(or any word-processing program), losing all of your post when it could have easily been fixed.

It’s STILL nobody’s fault but your own.

Sam

Well, are you using Michael Jackson’s voodoo doctor? He’s expensive, so obviously he’s real.
