Bill Paxton died

Yeah I was scratching my head trying to remember which character he played on the Titanic and a quick Google image search revealed it was the treasure hunter.

You’re supposed to confuse him with Bill Pullman.

Wow, not being a jerk works in Hollywood? Who knew?

And don’t forget Near Dark… “I hate it when they ain’t shaved…”

Richard John Marcej:

Billy Zane’s character didn’t die on the Titanic, either. He got on a lifeboat by pretending a random child was his, and was later said to have killed himself after losing his fortune in the crash of 1929.

The good news: he was a radio operator in Pat Benatar’s *Shadows of the Night *video. The bad news: that video sucked.

From Twister:
“Cow. … Another cow.”
“Actually I think that was the same one.”

If you can deliver that last line without breaking up, you are An Actor.

“Do you think they’re having a good time being catatonic in a closet?”

Goodbye, Chet.

I just have a sense that a lot of people are reading Bill Pullman’s IMDB profile today…

RIP. Twister is hands down one of my favorite movies.

My favourite role of his is in True Lies, as the car salesman who claims he’s a spy so he can seduce Jamie Lee Curtis.

I do not like this “complications from surgery” cause, that’s too scarily non-specific that could happen to anyone.

You’re thinking of Tom Paxton. Who is still with us.

This sucks, I’m a big fan of his work.

Don’t forget about Fish Heads:

Well, True Lies is on my list of worst movies I’ve ever seen, so I tend not to remember his performance in it.

I stand corrected.
That’s what I get for seeing the film when it opened, never having seen it again, and it not having left much of an impression on me. :smack:

You do realize that True Lies is a spoof, right?

While I hate to jump on the nitpick bandwagon in a thread that is memorializing an actor we all respect and appreciate, I feel I must.

The “build a fire and sing a few songs” quote was in Aliens with Bill paxton, but it was Paul Reiser’s character Burke who says it after their rescue ship crashes before pickup.

Ah, Bill. We hardly knew ye. :frowning:

RIP.

While it might not be The Best Movie Ever, it is certainly a good movie. I’d love to hear your commentary on why you feel it is the one of the worst ever. Start a new thread if you have to.

Yes. I still think it stinks.
Spoofs can be bad you know (see any of the Scary Movie films)

I’m sorry I hijacked this thread, especially one remembering a late actor.

I’d rather not start a thread, BTW. As much as I like these boards I realize that there are a handful of movies or TV shows that if you dare say anything negative about, you get trashed non ending.

Glad Gary S Paxton is still with us. He’s had several monster hits.

I’m surprised that Bill’s heart surgery went bad. It’s a grim reminder that heart surgery is still a risky procedure.

Bill had some great roles. He’ll be missed.

RIP

FUN FACT: It was a remake of Who Was That Lady? (1960), which starred Jamie Lee Curtis’s parents Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.

I chuckled. Sorry Bill - both of you!

I know they were together in in a Roger Corman film long, long ago (Brain Dead). Does anyone know if they shared screen time elsewhere?
