biopic of Truman Capote - Infamous

Ya like Truman Capote? Did ya like the movie with Phillip Seymore Hoffman? Well forget it. Another biopic came out a year later and it blows Capote away. I just discovered it. I liked Hoffman’s performance, but I agree with Rex Reed, in the review of Infamous. “I do not begrudge the versatile, popular Philip Seymour Hoffman his Oscar for playing the tiny terror in Capote, but he was doing an impression. In Infamous, a diminutive actor with a titanic talent named Toby Jones literally becomes the man himself. This is no lisping impersonation learned from watching old Johnny Carson shows.”

The movie is based on a George Plimpton book, an oral history where he interviewed over 100 people. That book is in the mail.

Capote lives!
