I’m here at work with a bad case of the flu. Well I happen to have Tiger Balm (active ingredients Menthol & Camphor) in my desk. So I thinks that’s the stuff to use in a steam breathing nose clearence emergency, we have cups and hot water at work so we have a possible mini nasal steam bath available. I put a finger splodge worth of Tiger Balm in a polystyrene cup and add the hot water. Bingo that’s some strong nasal clearing vapours being generated. But… the cup starts to disolve in this evil brew, quickly using a padding of paper towels I get the liquid back to a sink to pour it away before it starts dripping on me and or the carpet like the blood from a dead Alien.
So Tiger Balm dissolves PolyStyrene cups, beware!
I remember using glue to dissolve polystyrene as a kid. You could make some interesting patterns just by pouring varying amounts of glue on polystyrene.

You should dab a little of the Tiger Balm on your upper lip. That’s what I do to ease my congestion.

My grama used to rub Vicks Vapor on my chest and put some on my top lip and finally have me swallow a tablespoon full.

Yes, think polystyrene is the usual name in UK whilst styrofoam is usual in usa.
Well got a glass bowl cheaply and am using that with the tiger balm and v.hot water makes a great steam breathing head clearing solution.
Is swallowing Vics Vapour Rub even safe? :eek:
