There must be millions, if not billions of birds
, in flight, at any given time, all around the world. All living creatures have a ‘heart’ of some sort, and all of these will give out at some point. Why are we humans not pelted, on a continuing basis, with a steady barrage of dead birds from above?
Because birds are usually not flying when they die (unless a hawk catches them).
Yeh, but that’s like saying that all humans die in bed. I’m trying to factor in the ‘heart’ thought. A heart is going to give up when the good Lord says so and I don’t see humans or birds knowing the when so they can lie down (human) or land (bird).
Birds dying of a heart attack (or other causes)and falling out of the sky is in no way totally unheard of. Why don’t we get pelted with them? Well, look up into the sky and you’ll see (probably) that it is not completely crowded with birds, for any given bird it is very unlikely that it will die in midair at that instant. Yes you can sometimes see dead birds fall out of the sky (if your very lucky, or if there is an epidemic of a diease that can kill midflight), but it just doesn’t happen that often.
