The spouse has given me a Kindle Fire as an early birthday present.

I had been wondering why he was asking me about my Amazon account. He already had it set up and linked and with the Netflix app installed.
I may never be seen outside my room again…
The only problem is that he wants to play with it, too.
Yay! I got a Kindle Touch for Christmas and it basically made my entire year. Tell him to get his own!

I got one for Christmas and I love it so much more than I expected to. I got a Dodo case for it and it makes it that much cooler.

I’m thinking of getting a kit and making a tooled leather case for it.
Dodo case. It makes my Kindle look like a little journal, and it protects it. I’m not talented enough to make something myself and I really didn’t like most of the other choices.
Happy birthday! I think one of the cases that allows you to prop it up would be more helpful (like this). The Fire is heavy compared to other Kindles, and it would be nice to not have to hold it up constantly.
Is heat build up a concern? I notice it does get warm when I’ve been using it for a bit.
I’m still favoring a tooled leather case (in part because I’m a leatherworker so making one is right up my alley) and my spouse can probably make us an easel. He’s muttering “steampunk” so things could get interesting.
Alternatively, when I showed him the Dodocase page he said “Hey, I can make one of those…” Yeah, he can - I’ve seen his mad bookbinding skills, at one point he used to design and make slipcovers for a living.
We sort of handy around this house.
Wow, that really does look like a journal. I bet that would be a good way to prevent theft. I saw there were some that looked like old leatherbound books, but the colors are just terrible. There are some ugly cases out there.

And you’re gonna love that Fire. I upgraded our Kindle’s to Fires last Christmas; SWMBO and I are still discovering new things they can do.
Look to see if Oberon Designs has something for your Kindle. Someone here told me about them, and I was really regretting getting a case from B&N for my Nook. I am drooling over their stuff.
