Bizarre Internet Explorer behavior

There is a web form I use regularly at work, where I fille in customer information. One of the available fields is “website”. I rarely use it. All of a sudden, whenever I use this form and click submit, the field gets filled in with a link to www.recdir.com\random, where random is some random page on this site. I’ve never been to this site, to my knowledge.

I’ve run ad-aware and updated my virus scanner. I’ve disabled all kinds of auto-fill and forms helping features in IE and the Google toolbar. I searched the registry for any references to recdir. The website is in ASP, and I wrote it, so I’m quite sure it isn’t doing it somehow. I’m running Win XP.

Anyone heard of this? Any ideas?

Adaware doesn’t always catch everything. HijackThis is your next step. It’s a powerful (read: potentially-destructive) tool, so do nothing more than run a scan, look at the results, and get somebody who knows what they’re doing to look at them, on a place such as this

Interesting. THanks!

I wouldn’t say this is bizarre IE behavior. It’s fairly typical IE behavior actually.

Sorry.
