I’m having a hard time finding a reliable source of information in regards to the nicotine and tar content of Black and Mild cigars. I’ve found all the good information about not inhaling cigars and that they are “ten times as worse.” What is the actual nicotine/tar/carbon monoxide levels of one or a pack of Black and Milds? What is the nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in the exhaled smoke of the cigars? What are the actual health effects vs those of cigarettes? Thank you.
i pondered this myself. i smoke and when i first got my hands on a cigar, i didnt know much about smoking them, i assumed they were just like a badass version of a cigarette. but some research on the web said that cigars have little to no nicotine in them and your not supposed to inhale them. but the tar levels is hard to say, since it depends on your smoking style. like how fast you smoke, kind of cigar etc… but in my ametuer opinion i think cigars have a little more tar than cigarettes. but the tar levels should be the same as unfiltered 100’s
Well I know 250 grams of hookah tobacco has less than 1% nicotine and 0% tar. It has no additives other than flavored molasses (burning sugar is linked to cancer right?). I’m assuming B&M’s are less intense than most cigars. They have to have some nicotine in them if they have tobacco in them, and they sure do give me a buzz now and then. I know it’s not common to inhale cigars, but I don’t know if it’s uncommon to inhale B&M’s. I understand the tar level varies but I was looking for a smoking machine reading. I know the FTC used a type of smoking robot to get nicotine and tar readings for cigarettes. Unfiltered 100’s have ~25mg of tar, but I suspect the longer, fatter, and unfiltered Black and Milds have more than that. They may not. That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Is smoking and inhaling one mini-cigar really like smoking half a pack of cigarettes? Or a whole pack? Or are these just exaggerated horror stories?
