Black Friday deals are kind of "meh" this year....

Not many “super incredible” deals this year, and a lot of the online deals are better than the brick and mortar deals. I think retailers are starting to game the Black Friday door buster mentality.

Some OK deals but I really don’t see anything I’d stand in line out in the cold for at this point. Most of the PC notebook deals are small drives and low end processors, and not wildly different from regular sale prices.

I’ve noticed the same thing here as well. I was never big on Black friday to begin with and this year there is very little to change my mind out there.

Many people say that isn’t true.

“super incredible” deals this year,

I refuse to even bother shopping on Black Friday. It’s nothing but a disgusting display of rampant, mindless consumerism, and incidents like this serve only to underscore this impression.

Nothing quite like living on 50%-75% of your old take-home pay to greatly bring into focus what’s REALLY important and what you REALLY need.

We’ve received an unexpected windfall ($500 range, to be spent on four family members) from relatives and are really having a hard time coming up with things to spend it on.

I had another thread where I considered a PS3 with some of the funds and realized it didn’t really get me more than I already had, and so took a pass on it.

Sir, i salute your amazing powers of observation and analysis. The fact that it’s only taken you until now to work this out further increases my admiration for your perspicacity.

Heh, I didn’t even know what Black Friday was about until this year.
(hey, I’m only 23 and live like a pauper)
