Black Swan and Fantasia

So today we were watching Black Swan, and the

Title performance is the crescendo of the film. Problem is, given that we are children of the sixties and huge animation fans, the musical crescendo of the film left us with visions of ostriches in tutus and alligators in muskateer garb, which is hardly what the filmakers had in mind. I’m sure our delight was hardly what they’d hoped for - did anyone else have this (really delightful but distracting) problem with this film?

I’m a child of the '50s, and I’ve always found Fantasia boring. Dunno why, but it’s just never appealed to me. I find Black Swan infinitely superior. The ending didn’t bring Fantasia to mind for me.

Fantasia boring? Come on! The part of the pastoral is amazing, and the part of the Wizard Apprentice is superb.

Nope. Never cared for it. And I never could stand Mickey Mouse either. Even as a child, he made me want to puke. I was strictly a Warner Bros. / Bugs Bunny kind of kid.

I thought the dance in Fantasia was Dance of the Hours, not anything from Swan Lake?

You’re right, FS. The OP must have simply been reminded of it.

Ah, okay, got it.

Yup, just reminded. Ignorance fought, by the way. I would’ve sworn on my life it was the same music. It had the same sort of dance moves, though.
