"Blind Drunk" permanent?

I know that they now add bitrex and ipecac, I thought that the methanol remained.

To be honest, though, drinkable alcohol has dropped so much in price that I really doubt that it can be worth trying to find anything cheaper.

Si

An interesting aside: The treatment for methanol poisoning is IV ethyl alcohol.

Just sober up? (Look at Speaker for the Dead’s post.)

A quick public service message.

Someone mentioned antifreeze.

And often folks have a container or two of it laying around. And probably even riskier, when draining a car of it to replace it or fix something on the car, one will often use a shallow tray/container to hold the fluid being drained.

The bottles are a danger to children and the open trays are a danger to children and animals.

Small children and animals will sometimes drink this stuff if they can get ahold of it. Maybe they have changed the “flavor” lately, but in the past, when I did “taste tests”, the stuff seemed pretty pleasant to me, having a nice sweet flavor.

No need to treat it like nuclear waste, just use a little caution is all I am saying

Yep, antifreeze poisoning is a very common occurrence in animals, and it can be deadly if not caught early. It’s one of the first chemicals tested when an animal is suspected to have taken a poison (though my understanding is that they will also test for about a dozen other common household products which can cause similar symptoms or effects).
