How much money in net worth does it take before someone is to be considered “rich”?
Do you consider yourself “rich”?

I’m Rich in life my boy, and that’s all that matters.
Who is rich? One who is happy with his lot.

In terms of money, I’m not rich but I have relatives who are.
I have always wanted somone to start an “Ask the incredibly wealthy doper” thread, but I suppose it would degenerate into a begging session, they would need a sock to do it.
Well if you want a number I’d say $500,000 USD. If you want logistics, I’d say I was rich because I know my bills are paid at the end of every month, furthermore, I can save more than half my paycheck each month. I get paid like most bi-weekly. My soon-to-be wife and I can easily support our lifestyle. We hike, travel, fish, do projects…We both paid our dues in many years of schooling to be able to afford what we have now. No kids yet either. My favorite adult toy is my John Deer Backhoe. I’m in my thirties and consider myself fortunate.
I see no need to state my net worth, because frankly I don’t know.
Bling bling? I don’t know. Gangsta? Sure, why not.
To answer the O.P with my own opinion I have decided that 2 million is rich. my figuring is that with two million you could almost always find an investment that would pay 3% back, which means that without any work at all you could safely make 60,000 a year which would provide a comfortable living until the day I die (assuming inflation doesn’t go throught the roof over the next couple decades.)
as for part 2:
I heard being rich defined today as being able to walk away from your job and not have to worry that your bills won’t be paid.
So, I guess with various investments and savings, anyone can be rich. It depends on the lifestyle.
For me, rich would be paying cash for whatever I want, whether it be a nail file or a two week cruise to Alaska.
Not quite there yet…
Yes and no.
I am doing quite well for myself, but am by no means rich. However, a few years back I fell on hard times due to some risks that I had taken (but don’t regret). The overwhelming number of my friends who offered to loan or give me money was quite humbling. Who can consider himself poor when he is so rich in friends?
Seems like the more you make the more you spend. When I was twenty what I hve now would have been rich, now I think I am middle class, it is all a perception. I think rich is just being happy. Although winning a couple of mil in the lottery wouldn’t be bad.
Being rich means always being able to afford what you want. I manage this by only ever wanting what I can afford.
I like to think I’m rich. Does that count? I’m pretty content, but wouldn’t mind being “Bill Gates rich”. That would be cool.
Fagjunk Theology: Not just for sodomite propagandists anymore.
Rich is never worrying about your next meal, or if the utilities will go out at the end of the month, or if you’ll get sick and go bankrupt. Rich is when it isn’t a problem when you need to take the car into the shop, and not having to really look at the prices on restraunt menus. Rich is when you stay at hotels that are nicer than your house, when you dial long distance without glancing nervously at the clock every five seconds and when you don’t worry about trying to hit the matinees at the movie theater.
I am nobody’s idea of rich. I just realized today that I shop at thrift stores because Ross is out of my price range.
I was a multi-millionaire once and literally lost it overnight.
I heard ‘rich’ defined as ‘having a paid-for house’. Hmm…
 Wouldn’t a dildo be enough for you?
Okay, CBE, you can’t say something like that and somebody not be curious. How does one lose several million bucks overnight?
I believe ya and all, I’m just curious.

Myself, I don’t consider myself rich but I work for people who are  .
I’m thinking stock market. But I could be wrong.
