Blinking eyes

When a person starts to blink rapidly when you are speaking to them or on TV, is there any accurate psychological information you can glean from that activity besides tired, dry eyes or contact lens problems? Are they having a problem telling the truth?

Perhaps this person has Tourrette’s Syndrome.

insider, I’ve checked my cold reading books and can’t find anything specifically about that.

Cold reading (“cold”, because you supposedly don’t know anything about the person) is what some psychics, mentalists, salespeople, and psychiatrists do. It is observing things about someone and listening very closely to learn things about them. Through it, you can know much about a person before they even say a word. It’s a combination of observation and knowing statistics (what could be true about someone if they are wearing a certain artical of clothing, for example).

The reason I bring it up is because eyes are a big part of cold reading. For instance, by watching for the size of a person’s pupils when they look at items in a store, you can gleam if they are interested in buying something.
That being said, there are techniques in cold reading where you know if a person is lying or being open by watching their eyes. The books I have don’t have anything very complete about this, but there are many books available. Also, there are sites online that you can find if you search google.com for “cold reading”. I found quite a few.

Its one cue cops are trained to look for that indicates lying but could easily result from some other discomfort. I would not say there is any accurate information you can draw from this factor alone.
