blocking sender in outlook express

Spammers don’t often use stable email adresses(Often they will only use an address for one mail out session before having the account cancelled by the service provider) and will often forge header information which means your not going to be sending a message back to the spammer anyway so I wonder how a software product can generate a message that says oh I’m not here any more take me off your list please. I mean come on people are you all really this naive. Sorry I don’t mean to offend anyone but. Let me put it this way I administer my own mail server so yes I can create and delete valid email addresses at will and guess what this doesn’t even stop them. I have one email address that I had to put on a web page for a period of time once. However when I had finished with it I had deleted it. That was two years ago last month out of curiosity I recreated the same email address and guess what within 8 hours I had over 300 emails to that address this is on an account that has been deleted for two years and with my server set to bounce emails to invalid addresses. So I ask again do you think that generating a “delete me please” is not going to work.

The way I do it now is I DO NOT use Outlook in any flavour. I only use Eudora (Say what you will but it helps). I do not give my email address to ANY ONE except family members or trusted friend. I use multiple email addresses for different purposes. If I have to register sure I have a spambin @ whocares.xxx (Not a valid address) and if they want a valid address to subscribe me sure no problems I’ll never read any email sent to that address unless I really need to. I don’t give my email address to just anyone. What ever you do just don’t fall into the trap of replying to a remove link that’s just asking for more spam. Another great trap I think are forwarding lists with countless dozens of addresses in them these are like gold to spammers. Spammers are not your friends and will do anything to get to you this is how they make their money not by being Mr Nice Guy and saying oh yes we’ll remove you because you don’t want these messages. Shit what do they care as long as they get paid for what they are doing. I recall recently that a national do not call list was being talked about. In that instance the spammers(Telemarketers) actually challenged the do not call list in court and this was a list you the user had to subscribe to. So I ask you, what do you think your chances are of getting off a spam list.

In my regular email inbox I get maybe a few emails everyday and only ever from the people I need to hear from and want to hear from. Sure I have some restrictions that I place on myself but it’s better than getting stuck downloading crap all the time and I can garantee any time I get an email it’s from someone I know.

Actually, not downloading it but deleting it from the server IS an option - even using POP. I’ve used POP email programs that can do this.

Most programs don’t give you that option, I don’t know why.
