Can anyone point me in the direction of a Bloggn/creatioh/updating proggie that is free that I don’t have topay out the ying-yang for just for a few extras and crappy technical support?
I am ALSO desperately searching, with little luck it would seem, for a sharewre/freeware diet program that can count carbohydrates, track your daily food intakes, track the vitamin minimums you want, track excercise all withouth ending up costing me $49.95 to count carbs.
God they screw you on the carbs. Not only the first time (cheeseburger, drool) but they screw you the second time when yo have to pay $50 to stay on the damned diet.
To papaphrase (and excuse the blue langurage) “They FUCK YOU at the drive through!”

The current one i love is Weight By Date Pro Trial, but I have 12 days left in my trial and I will not make it by then. I deally I want to use it for the rest of my life to keep track of excercise, ccarbohydrates, caloric intake, vitamins, and the rest.

I promise a Blueberry Low CarbSmoothie Shake to someone who can help me - if you’re within refrigeration location. OItherwise, I’ll send a coupon, cause they’re GOOD!
Can’t help you on the calorie counter thing… but for blogging, you can set up an account through Blogger for free, which gives you hosting and the web-based blogging software.
That’s assuming that you’re comfortable with Blogger having access to your stuff… but if you don’t want it getting out there, why publish it, right?
I myself use Wordpress, a well-rounded blogging program with a lot of community support and easy set-up. They claim that the installation only takes 5 minutes, although it took longer for me at the time as I was a PHP newbie at the time. That brings me to another point: Wordpress requires PHP and at least one MySQL database. As long as your host has those, you’re peachy.
People also say that Wordpress blogs are sort of ugly. That’s absolutely not true, as designs are based on CSS, so if you can write up a decent .css file, you’re good. There are also a metric ton of CSS templates available, which will certainly help if you don’t know CSS, or want to learn by example.
On a side note, I don’t think my blog is too ugly. A great example of a great layout is Binary Bonsai, a blog by one of the guys who worked on Wordpress’ design.
Oh my god, would you believe that I worked at a oftware design company and have only a passing familiarity with most of those phrases. CSS, PHP. I think I have SQL7 so…oh jeepers…this may succk, and I definitely do NOT want to go the LJ route.
