If you’ve ever seen El Mariachi, there is a HILLARIOUS (in context) song about castration that mentions a woman with “Northern Eyes” (the woman in question had blue eyes, though I’m not entirely sure what “Northern Eyes” would mean in the context of a naked mariachi singer in Mexico.
I think I love you for remembering not only who Shai was, but even the lyrics from one of their songs. That’s just lovely.

Actually, this is one of the most commonly misquoted lyrics in history. The line is really an homage to a brand of pastries that was much-beloved during the bandmates’ youth in Liverpool. It wasn’t that the pastries themselves were that great, but the sellers made a point of hiring pretty girls to staff the carts and sell the treats. The manufacturer was named after the Greek entrepreneur who started the company many years before; they unfortunately went bankrupt a while back. That’s why you can no longer find a girl with Kalidis Co. Pies anywhere.
