I make a French Blueberry pie that is to die for, with a layer of cream cheese filling…so good! I’ll dig out the recipe and post it later. But part of the secret to the pie is to cook only half of the berries in the filling, then add the rest of the fresh berries at the end.
Lemon curd is one thing I find to be so much better than store-bought (I use the Barefoot Contessa’s recipe) and Hollandaise sauce. Also…macaroni and cheese, and meatloaf. And Rice Krispie Treats…the pre-packaged ones are horrible…the homemade type takes just a few minutes and are so much better (especially if you use browned butter and a dash of sea salt a la the Smitten Kitchen recipe) Chex Party Mix…so easy in the microwave, miles better than store-bought.
